الوصف
مواصفات:
Oleamide is the amide of oleic acid, with the molecular formula C₁₈H₃₅NO.
Its structure like erucamide,it has a long hydrocarbon chain with a single cis double bond and a polar amide head group, but the chain is shorter (18 carbons vs. erucamide’s 22 carbons).

The differences between Oleamide and Erucamide:
The shorter chain length of oleamide means it has a lower molecular weight, which makes it bloom to the surface faster and more intensely, but it also means it can volatilize or “burn off” more readily at higher processing temperatures, and its slip effect tends to diminish faster over time compared to erucamide.
Erucamide’s longer chain gives it better thermal stability during processing (important in things like blown film and BOPP film extrusion) and generally more durable,longer-lasting slip performance.

Application of Oleamide :
1.Slip agent in plastics (main use)
Like erucamide, used in polyethylene (بى) and polypropylene (PP) films as a slip additive, though it’s often chosen for:
>Applications needing fast, immediate slip effect right after processing.
>Lower-cost formulations, since oleic acid-derived amides are sometimes more economical than erucic acid-derived ones depending on feedstock/market pricing.
2.Anti-blocking agent — Same function as erucamide, preventing film layers or sheets from sticking together.
3.Lubricant/release agent — Used in various polymer processing contexts as an internal lubricant, similar to erucamide.
4.Rubber and coatings — Occasionally used for anti-tack or surface-modifying purposes in rubber compounding and specialty coatings.

Practical note: In commercial plastics formulations, oleamide and erucamide are sometimes blended together (or with behenamide) to combine oleamide’s fast initial slip with erucamide’s or behenamide’s longer-lasting performance, giving both immediate and sustained anti-blocking/slip properties over the life of the film.
Erucamide tends to dominate the high-performance film market (especially in demanding applications like BOPP and high-speed packaging lines) due to its better balance of bloom rate and thermal stability, while oleamide is often used where cost or fast initial slip is the priority.
