Methyl nicotinate is the methyl ester of nicotinic acid,with the molecular formula C₇H₇NO₂.
Its chemical structure consists of a pyridine ring with a carboxylic acid group at the 3-position,esterified with methanol (–COOCH₃ instead of –COOH).
And it’s typically white to pale yellow crystalline powder at room temperature,with a faint,slightly fruity/nicotinic odor. It’s soluble in water and most organic solvents.
