Isobornyl methacrylate is an aliphatic methacrylate monomer. It is a low‑viscosity liquid with a bicyclic isobornyl side group in its chemical structure. It contains polymerizable carbon‑carbon double bonds, which can undergo free‑radical polymerization upon heat, peroxide initiators or ultraviolet irradiation. It features high glass‑transition temperature, good hardness, low shrinkage during curing, excellent weather resistance and hydrophobic property.

Application of Isobornyl methacrylate Cas 7534-94-3 :
1. UV‑curable coatings and inks
It is widely used as a reactive diluent for ultraviolet‑curing systems. It reduces system viscosity for better processing, improves surface hardness, scratch resistance and outdoor weather stability of cured films. It is applied in wood coatings, plastic surface coatings, printing inks and varnishes.
2. Adhesives
In radiation‑cured and hot‑melt adhesive formulations, it modifies polymer properties to boost hardness, water resistance and bonding performance for substrates such as plastics and metals.
3. Acrylic polymer synthesis
It is copolymerized with other acrylic monomers to produce thermoplastic or cross‑linked acrylic resins. The resulting polymers deliver high hardness, good gloss and anti‑yellowing performance, suitable for high‑performance paint binders.
4. 3D printing photopolymers
