Bleach activator in laundry and cleaning products (essentially its sole major use):
TAED is usded in powder laundry detergents,dishwasher detergents, and other cleaning products. It can be processed to enables the detergent formula to achieve effective stain removal and bleaching (especially for tea stains, coffee stains, red wine stains and other organic stains) at lower energy-saving temperatures, without relying on hot water to activate the bleaching agent.
TAED became a cornerstone ingredient in the shift toward lower-temperature, more energy-efficient laundry washing over the past few decades,as consumers and regulations pushed toward washing at 30°C or even cold water instead of the traditional 60~90°C hot washes, bleach activators like TAED became essential to maintain effective stain-removal and hygienic bleaching performance despite the lower thermal energy available to drive the bleaching chemistry.
